Pussycat Dolls Present: Politicians Versus Pussycats

While the Pussycat Dolls started out in the United States, they gradually became famous worldwide for their musical and burlesque performances, attracting a sizable fan base. But on the other hand, given the risqué nature of the shows they put on, some countries and governments have also been giving the girls a thumbs-down. Criticism has come from nations such as Malaysia, where the group has been labeled as being “too raunchy” and a music promoter losing his job for bringing them there. And now, the latest administration to similarly speak out against the Pussycat Dolls belongs to the land down under, Australia.

Cabinet minister Tony Robinson has openly denounced the group, specifically its music videos. He has referred to them as not being true artistic expression, and more bluntly, as just mere trash bordering on pornography – a “mobile lingerie show.” He spoke up about his beliefs amidst State Parliament discussions on recent criminal activities in Australia, specifically perversion-related crimes. The trend of upskirting, or young men using cleverly hidden or disguised cameras to shoot and film up the skirts of women, has been on locally on the rise. A number of arrests were made by the authorities in relation to such crimes, and Robinson believes that videos and programming akin to the Pussycat Dolls would only spur on more of this deviant behavior.

He has said that the group’s music videos and other productions would help set up a mindset that such behavior is perfectly harmless, ordinary and acceptable. He says that he thought it over while seeing a Pussycat Dolls music video at the gym, and though he has yet to see any episodes of Pussycat Dolls Present, it’s unlikely that he’ll have a more tolerant attitude towards them. It’s a concern for producers of the series, which may cause the show to have a harder time getting exported to the proud and beautiful land of the wallabies.

The event gave us an opportunity to present investors with instant information on the latest developments from Dubai Properties, as well as introduce our latest project launches to a new market.

“Indian nationals are amongst the top investors within the booming real estate market in Dubai. The geographical proximity of India makes it an increasingly attractive sector for property developers in the UAE to contemplate. India itself is an emerging and credible market that boasts many international conglomerates and high-net worth investors with whom we are keen to meet and conduct business with.”

In 2007, Indian Nationals spent AED 4 billion on real estate in Dubai, and over the past 10 years, Indian Nationals have spent a total of AED 6.5 Billion on the Dubai Real Estate sector.
